Getting about Walking is best, but if you want to take the Metro buy a Carnet book of 10 tickets. You can use the tickets on buses. Taxis are very expensive.
When to go Spring is the legendary time to visit. However in summer the city is relatively empty because the Parisians are on holiday - a perfect time to avoid the lines.
Visiting attractions Get to the Eiffel Tower when it opens at 9.30am to avoid the lines or go at night – it’s open until 11pm. There’s free entry to major museums on the first Sunday of the month, but that makes them busier.
Some of the content of the magazine refers to flights or prices from the UK. At Travel Counsellors Ireland we can source flights from Ireland and provide full quotes in Euros. Please call me for latest availability and prices.
