Mark Chesnut’s Report on Cancun - Best Avoided
Posted On 03.10.07
Hurricanes
While hurricanes infrequently arrive in Cancun, the damage wrought by Hurricane Wilma in 2005 underscored the potential severity of storms in the Caribbean during hurricane season, which comes to a peak in September and October.

Spring Break
It’s an annual Spring Break tradition for some college students: they head to Cancun for a week of sometimes rowdy partying. The dates can occur any time between February and April. The best way to avoid these crowds, if you must travel during this time, is to choose one of the more expensive hotels, avoid all-inclusive properties, and/or opt for a hotel with a strict “no spring breakers” policy.
