Weather in the Maldives...
My fiance and I are getting married at the end of July and are hoping to go to the Maldives for our honeymoon. My brothers went over Christmas and everyone said the weather in July and August is awful (monsoon season, even). What is the weather like at that time of year and do you recommend we go?Meredith

Yes it is the monsoon season. The best time to visit the Maldives is between January and March. I recommend Zanzibar in July and August. You could add on a safari in Kenya. Bali would also be a good summer honeymoon destination.

June has the highest rainfall followed by July and August. I was in the Maldives in September, towards the end of the rainy season. It did rain but everywhere dried up pretty quickly after the rains and the weather was still hot. However the sea was pretty rough and not good for diving.
